Yes – it happens to many designers and I’ve seen it over and over with custom & designer dance costumes. Funny that I just mentioned this in my last post about buying costumes.

So, lo and behold – terrible photoshopping included – I see our headbands cut & pasted on to other models, or simply the item picture with a new watermark all over it:

seavex seahunter mainshop2008This guy (or team – whoever they are) have taken a few of our headbands. You can see from listing they’ve also ripped off dress pictures from many well-known costume designers or even what looks like private sale listings of nice ballgowns.

seavex seahunter mainshop2008I’m fairly certain that “seavex” and “sea hunter” are the same ebay scammers that pop up all over… currently under “mainshop2008”. I’ve reported them to ebay for copyright infringement but still, there is likely no stopping a scammer.

I realize that any photo that is posted on the internet is up for grabs, but I am rather curious what kind of product you’ll get if you order one of the headbands they claim to be selling…. but I don’t even feel like wasting my $20 to find out.

*update* I filed a complaint with the Ebay department that handles such circumstances, and within about 8 hours they had responded and the images removed/seller notified. Go ebay!
