I love headbands as a part of costuming. There is something so fabulously fierce about them.

I try to have several design variations so people won’t always end up with the exact same headband. Lately I’ve been seeing the emergence of styles that are more than just a straight-across-the-forehead concept.

Once I start, I often realize that the possibilities and idea combinations are endless…. and these are only a few. I’ll have to work on bringing a few of these headbands “to life” in the near future.

I plan to leave these open-ended at the back (rather than full-circle) since the size and shape of head they’ll end up on will be unknown. And furthermore, depending on the actual hairstyle, the exact placement can be more flexible this way. I have seen competitors weave the ends of a headband into a hairstyle which looks beautiful and again, seems more flexible an option (or even cut the ends of the headband if it is too long). However, making a headband ‘circular’ (with elastic in the back) is a great option on a custom order if that is a preference.

And if there is any concern about the headband flying off, eyelash glue is a great little secret for helping things stay put.
