It’s no secret that in the ballroom world, what you wear to compete in is an important part of the package. Ultimately it’s your dancing that counts, but showing up well-groomed goes a long way. And generally when you feel good, you dance better. Whether we like it or not, a certain degree of judgement passes upon us by others purely based on what they see in our appearance.

I came across this fabulous 1-hour documentary that touches a bit on the power of the wardrobe throughout some historical points with the British Monarchy. It was interesting and if you are a lover of historical fashion, then this is definitely worth the watch. While this isn’t strictly dance-related, the end-theme (regarding presentation and what you want to convey by use of your costuming) was so similar to ballroom, I thought I would post the video anyway. Plus it’s pretty cool on it’s own merits.

Enjoy!
