All sorts of ‘new’ stuff this year (including a blog!) and a wonderful new workspace…. three-hundred square feet of fun and awesome. Not all the furniture is here yet, nor is everything finished, but at least it’s now able to get rolling again. It sure felt great to get everything back out of boxes!

“After” is still a work in progress. For example, Project Chandelier is going to take some time. (Looking at this picture, I just noticed I should paint that vent grate black too. I’m not sure why I didn’t catch that earlier.)

You can see, I’m about halfway done this one. While I liked the bright lighting of the current fluorescent lights, I thought they looked awful boring. (Background art: limited edition prints by illustrator Charlene Chua.)

I can’t emphasis enough how much easier it is to work in an organized workspace. We had this built after a lot of hunting around craig’s list, antique stores, ikea, and strange overseas on-line stores for watchmaker-style chests.studio crystal cabinet

This would be 24 trays of nearly every Swarovski color. (If I could roll around in all those crystals, I probably would.)

And below, we added a beautiful toile wallpaper to the office area. Unfortunately, we have no desk yet. The shipping company seems to have misplaced a 200 lbs crate shipment. Go figure.
