We recently competed in Alberta (and had a blast!) and when I posted this pic on my personal facebook, I received a lot of compliments on my gown….. which is kind of funny because they have seen me wear the same gown before.
This time, I had taken off the large floats and put ribbons on instead. Then I made a bow-tie headband and a detachable ribbon rosette with a touch of ostrich feather, and voila! It suddenly had a completely different look. And for a lot less money than a new gown (not that I would complain about a new gown….). But never underestimate the ability to completely change a look by even the combination of accessories.
Here we are (awe!) – I’ll have to see if I can find any half-decent “before” pictures for comparison.
On a side note…. I washed our costumes together, my lovely husband/partner now has a pink latin shirt to match my standard dress :-/
