The 90’s are back!
And thanks to an overall resurgence in many things 90’s, chokers are definitely at the forefront! In the world of ballroom, chokers have always been around (heh heh, no pun intended), although people generally have a love it/hate it relationship to chokers. Now that it’s once again in fashion limelight, we’ve been getting more requests than usual for chokers.
We don’t have too many chokers in stock (although we do make them!) primarily because the fit is more critical. It is not our preference to use velcro to make an adjustable closure, since it adds bulk and often will catch hair if hair is worn in a low-bun or pony-tail. We definitely can do custom-fitted chokers, but this doesn’t help when we arrive at vendor events and someone really wants a choker. Sometimes, they luck out and they’re the right size to whatever we have on hand. Even so, options have been limited.
In favour of having a larger ready-to-wear (or ship) stock, we’re adding some designs that have adjustable backs with chain and lobster claw. This allows for a play in size, while keeping the back fairly thin and less likely to catch on hair.

We will still be making chokers custom-fit upon request, especially if someone is particularly concerned about metal allergies (the chain and lobster claw are nickel-free but this doesn’t accommodate all metal allergies), or has a neck-size that happens to be shorter than the length of the necklace (in particular for younger dancers).
We’ve also divided up the webstore necklace category to “regular” and “chokers” so it will be easier to navigate.
